The latest update for ARC Raiders has significantly changed how players approach storms, PvP, augments, and crafting. With the Hurricane event live and the Expedition wipe approaching, now is the perfect time to sharpen your strategy.
Here are 12 advanced ARC Raiders tips that will give you a serious edge after the update.
One of the biggest Hurricane update changes is storm shield damage. Regular green shield rechargers no longer recharge your shield inside the storm.
Instead, you must use the Surge Shield Recharger (blue). This is currently the only way to recharge shields while taking storm damage. If you're planning extended storm rotations, bring Surge rechargers or risk being caught vulnerable.
When inside the storm, shielded players glow blue, making them extremely easy to detect.
If you're trying to sneak through storm zones:
- Remove your shield
- Move quietly
- Avoid glowing visibility
This is especially important in PvP-heavy matches where experienced players actively scan glowing silhouettes.
With Expedition wipes resetting characters, timing matters.
Avoid fully completing:
- Weather Monitor System Project
- Trophy Display System
If you finish these before the wipe, rewards are wasted. Save them for after Expedition so you can claim valuable post-wipe progression bonuses.
If developers return your gear after a confirmed cheater kill, don’t open it immediately.
Let those items stack up and open them after the Expedition wipe. This gives you a strong early advantage with free gear when everyone else starts fresh.
The old snap hook safe-pocket trick was patched—but there’s a workaround.
To perform the updated method:
1. Snap hook as normal
2. Immediately press “1”
3. Roll back
4. Drag item to safe pocket
Pressing “1” interrupts the patch restriction and allows the snap hook tech to work again.
Spotters (flying enemies) now drop Spotter Relays. Previously only used for crafting, they can now be deployed.
When placed:
- The relay locks onto players
- Nearby ARK units attack the tagged target
This is perfect for:
- Setting traps
- Forcing enemy movement
- Controlling PvP zones
Pop Triggers can now be equipped in your quick-use slot.
They:
- Explode on deployment
- Damage ARK and players
- Can be salvaged into crude explosives
They’re a low-cost way to pressure enemies or finish weakened targets.
Struggling to maintain energy ammo?
Place your energy clip inside your safe pocket. You can still fire your energy weapon normally, and if you die, you won’t lose the ammo.
This is incredibly valuable in high-risk raids.
New Comet ARK enemies have a clear weak spot mechanic.
Wait until they:
- Open up
- Expose the center core
Shoot the center while exposed for fast kills and guaranteed access to Comet Igniters, used to craft Deadlines.
The Tactical MK3 Defensive augment is currently top-tier.
Benefits:
- Allows shield recharging while running
- Includes an integrated shield recharger
- Strong cooldown synergy with storm damage
This saves inventory space and increases survivability during Hurricane rotations.
Movement physics matter.
- Running perpendicular to the storm is faster than running into it
- Running away from it is even faster
- You can chain slides for extra speed
Use this to reposition quickly and escape collapsing zones.
Hurricane caches emit distinct audio cues.
Recommended settings:
- Enable Night Mode
- Use Stereo Headphones (not system default)
Better directional audio dramatically increases cache detection efficiency.
Equip Raider Scrap (Survival) during Hurricane raids.
It gives:
- A chance to find additional field-crafted items when looting raider containers
- Extra value from Hurricane caches
Over time, this adds up significantly.
The Expedition event offers:
- 10% XP boost
- 20% repair bonus
- 12% extra scrapping materials
- Exclusive skins and skills
Make sure you’re registered before it launches.
The Hurricane update has shifted the meta in ARC Raiders. Shield management, movement optimization, new deployables, and audio tuning now separate average players from advanced raiders.
