Bethesda has released a new Fallout 76 update on January 20, 2026, delivering a wide range of improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements across the game just weeks after the Burning Springs expansion.
This patch (version 1.7.23.11) — available now on PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), Xbox, and PlayStation — focuses on addressing player-reported issues, polish for existing systems, and improvements to gameplay, UI, quests, weapons, C.A.M.P. items, and localization.
The patch rolls out on all platforms with the following approximate download sizes:
Bethesda resolved multiple display and clipping issues with armor and outfits:
- Dynamic names now correctly display on Adrenal and Lucid armor with legendary effects.
- Fixed color mismatches (e.g., Cutthroat Helmet).
- Players can now wear additional headwear and eyeglasses with the Ulysses Mask.
- Corrected facial hair issues with the Deathclaw Tamer Hat.
- Several outfit clipping issues in first-person view were fixed for both male and female variants.
This patch brings clarity and polish to CAMP items and workshop behavior:
- Wall Mounted Oven and Pumpkin Pie descriptions now explain their function more clearly.
- Visual issues such as missing effects from the Hunting Lodge Fireplace have been patched.
- Various CAMP decorations and item icons are now correctly displayed.
- Pathing issues for camp allies and placement issues for items like the Ohio River Docks have been resolved.
- Seasons rewards now properly appear in menus after claiming.
Improvements extend to world interactions and gameplay mechanics:
- Certain challenges now trigger correctly and display accurate timers.
- Event NPCs now behave properly based on completion history.
- Fishing locations in Ash Cave have been updated.
- Fixed map marker visibility issues for areas introduced with recent content.
- Player Ghouls now once again require disguises to enter Crater Core and Fort Atlas (a change that’s stirred discussion among players).
Localization and user interface now feel more polished:
- New and corrected localized dialogue for characters like Windy, The Ghoul, and Loan Shark.
- Fixed translation and debug text in non-English versions.
- Many UI issues were addressed — including recipe display fixes, cursor improvements, and corrected item descriptions.
- Help menus now include important region names like Highway Town.
Several gameplay systems received significant fixes:
- Weapon mods such as Juggernauts and Steady are now added to new All Rise weapons by default with increased HP bonus.
- Legendary mod Elementalist now properly grants +5 Radiation Resistance and displays correctly.
- Multiple quest progress blockers and interaction quirks were fixed across major quests like Dirty Laundry and Prove Your Resolve.
Additional refinements include:
- Fixed voice lines for certain NPCs.
- Addressed outfit clipping issues.
- Corrected unintended crafting station descriptions.
- Numerous visual, audio, and UX fixes to improve overall stability.
Known issues — like French voice-over support for some content — remain and Bethesda recommends subtitles until full support is restored.
Unlike major content expansions, this update didn’t introduce new storylines or large features. Instead, it prioritizes:
- Fixing bugs and display issues
- Improving quality-of-life gameplay
- Polishing localization and UI
- Correcting quest and item behavior
Players have reported relief for many of the most annoying issues — and while some bugs remain, this patch brings Fallout 76 closer to the stable experience fans have been asking for.
