The Fallout 76 Mothman Equinox Event has returned, and while longtime players may recognize the core gameplay loop, recent datamining has revealed a new surprise reward option, along with an updated High Priest spawn map and clarified drop mechanics. If you’re farming rare cosmetics, XP bonuses, or legendary loot, this guide breaks down everything you need to know.
The Mothman Equinox is a seasonal public event that runs every hour on the hour. The current run starts after the daily reset and continues until February 10, 2026.
- Location: Point Pleasant
- Accessible Area: Burning Springs (cross the river from Point Pleasant)
- Frequency: Once per hour, server-wide
After speaking with Interpreter Clarence, players must help prepare the ritual to praise the Mothman.
Event Objectives
1. Destroy the vines at three ritual pyres:
- Inside the church
- Near the water
- At the bridge
2. Collect Albino Radstag Blood
3. Defeat five Cultist Prophets
4. Defend all three pyres
To earn the best possible rewards, all pyres must survive until the event ends.
There are no brand-new event-specific rewards this time, but players can still earn solid loot:
- 500 XP
- 60 Caps
- 1★ Legendary Item
- 2 Treasury Notes
- 1–3 Legendary Modules
Guaranteed Plans
- Mothman Equinox Stein (100% drop until learned, non-tradable)
- Cultist Player Title (100% drop until learned)
The event still features a large pool of rare cosmetic and CAMP plans, including:
- Bone Chill Skull Mask
- Chainsaw Skeptical Paint
- Cultist Adept, Enlightened, Eventide, Incarnate, and Neophyte outfits
- Cultist Backpack
- Fluttering Moths
- Fuzzy Mothman and Enlightened Plushies
- Honeycomb Paper Mothman variants
- Mothman Cultist Incense
- Taxidermy Moth Displays
- Wise Mothman Throne
Most Wanted Reward: Sacred Mothman Tome
The Sacred Mothman Tome remains the most desirable drop.
- Grants a 5% XP bonus
- Buildable in your CAMP
- Stacks with Well Rested bonus
- Tradable plan
A newly discovered server-side option can enable Mutated Packs or Mutated Party Packs if at least three Fallout 1st subscribers participate in the event.
- This feature is not always active
- Can be enabled during weekends or special rotations
- Similar to past Holiday Scorched or Alien Event bonus systems
What’s Inside Mutated Packs?
Possible rewards include:
- Asylum Worker outfits (Red, Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow)
- Forest & Urban Scout Armor Masks
- Rare apparel otherwise unavailable
Unique Weapons (Scrappable for Mods)
- Overkill
- Peacemaker
- Boomstick
- Longshot
- Fancy Pump-Action Shotgun
- Fancy Revolver
- Slug Buster
Cultist High Priests now use a newly generated density map, covering Appalachia and Burning Springs.
High Priest Spawn Rules
- Spawn outside of events
- Do not spawn inside instanced buildings
- Always Legendary (1–3 stars)
- Level scales with the player
- Drop:
- Legendary item
- Cultist Priest Pack (non-tradable)
High Priests follow the same spawn logic as Treasure Hunters, meaning they replace normal enemy spawns across the map rather than appearing in fixed locations.
- Focus on high-density enemy areas
- Avoid public events while hunting priests
- Use the density map to rotate between spawn-heavy regions
- Server hopping can improve efficiency
The Fallout 76 Mothman Equinox Event remains one of the best seasonal activities for farming rare plans, XP buffs, and legendary items. While no new standard rewards were added, the mutated party pack surprise, combined with High Priest hunting, makes this event worth grinding—especially for collectors and XP-focused players.
